The Vault Gallery

I visited Charlie and Sarah Johnston and their new Vault Gallery last Friday at 2181 Portage Ave. A great location - bright and spacious, and with parking space! A great space for art. They are still looking for groups of artists/craftspeople who are looking for a venue to have a show. They are more than willing to negotiate, and are open to proposals. The space includes vaults that would be great to display jewellery (Shades of MCC on Academy Rd.) They are still short of 3D display, but are interested in ideas.

Glass in a new venue

And I also visited Robert's salon at 101-912 Portage Ave. Robert McGhie is happy to show the work of local artists in his hair dressing salon. At this time Yolanta and Zbigniew Sokalski are showing their glass work there. The photos here can give one an idea of the display potential.

The 22nd Annual Brandon Folk Music and Art Festival takes place July 28-30, 2006. Each year, artisans, crafters and community organizations are invited to join us Under the Canvas to sell and share their work. All participants will be provided with one table and two chairs under a marquee tent, promotion in the Festival program and two weekend Festival passes.

The Exhibitor is required to be set up and open to the public at Under the Canvas, Brandon Folk Music and Art Festival held at the Provincial Exhibition Grounds in Brandon, Manitoba during the following dates and times:

Friday July 28 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Saturday July 29 12 noon until 8:00 pm
Sunday July 30 12 noon until 8:00 pm

unserviced camping is available on site, food booths (on site) and restaurants (easy walking) are accessible, and backstage food passes are available for a small additional fee (includes Friday and three meals Saturday/Sunday).
